Smart Shoes

A novelty item designed to get you home no matter how drunk you were, a pair were allegedly bought by Olaf Petersen. Sick of the repetitive journey from the pub to his home, the shoes waited until Petersen was drunk in Oslo before taking him on a trip. He awoke the next day in Burma. The shoes were last seen stealing a car which, being unable to steer, they drove into a canal.

Operational notes: Assuming Lister didn't make the whole story up just to do a pun about 'soles', the moral must be 'if you're drinking, do it barefoot.' Right?
