The first episode received 2.09 million viewers for Dave, making it the most successful programme ever shown on the channel, the highest ratings the channel has ever received and also helped make Dave the most watched digital channel last night.

I wonder how many will return for tonights episode...!

Do you have a source for this information?
It would be interesting to see how many viewers stayed tuned for the classic episodes and would be nice to be able to compare the viewing figures of parts ii and iii also.

I think it pulled nearly as good a rating as one of the BBC channels (Was it one or two? Said in the article. Perhaps both.) did in the same timeslot.

No doubt with Red Dwarf the BBC would have done even better, and are no doubt kicking themselves, or at least should be.

Absolutely fantastic. I must admit, I didn't think it would attract much more than one million. Let's hope the next two episodes get similar figures.

Also these are only the overnight figures. I would imagine that once you add in the people who will have recorded it and watched it back it will be even higher. I wonder what figure Dave would have in mind to make it worth commisioning more. I just hope that there aren't too many who don't come back for Episode 2.

considering the overnight figure has just blitzed its previous record high and with the advertising revenue, i think Dave will be happy to commision more but it all depends on cast commitments and other factors (remember Craig Charles would need permission from Corrie for time off to commit to RD)

Ratings work via 50,000 people who are affilated with a company (cant remember name) with litttle chips in their tv's which send what the're watching back to the company, they then figure out how many people must be watching by maths.
