    2. classic model shots (hopefully thats still happening)
    3. set reports suggest its better then VII,VIII and BTE
    4. back on red dwarf with just the 4 guys like the good old days

    just thought it was worth stating ;-)

    If they really are using models again that would be brilliant, and if anyone in a high place in RDX's production is reading this then I suggest that if it still exists they should use the template model for the remastered episodes, I know it's the unpopular pencil shape but it's so superbly detailed it would be such a waste not to use it, maybe they could modify it to be shorter. I loved the look of the ship in BTE and I think the CGI didn't do the new design justice.

    Not if they shorten it. Anyway I agree with Doug Naylor that the ship would have been built in a way that a pencil shape would logically be much more likely.

    i swear i read somewhere that mike tucker said they could just shorten the model, but maybe im wrong

    No, I've heard that too. In fact, isn't the CGI BtE one a digitally shortened version of the pencil design?

    I have heard that both model and CGI shots are to be used. The FX boys did say that model shots don't necessarily have to cost more than CGI and can be more effective...

    For me, BTE's exterior ship shots were amazing. If they can recreate that quality, I'm more than happy....

    Check out the news bulletin! They're using a shortened and refurbished version of the remastered model, the new pic looks smegtastic!:-)
