Maybe there was a temporary stasis firld around his belongings?
Because when he went into stasis all of his belongings were safely sealed in the hold, just like Frankenstein.
And the Scutters had three million years to keep everything else clean (If you assume that was not the case, the Scutters were instructed to clean the ship up by Holly just prior to Lister being released from stasis), but presumably were not authorised to deal with Human remains so just cleaned around them, that might also explain why whole people had been reduced to neat little piles too, the Scutters were able to tidy up the remains if not dispose of them.
And then Lister went around eating the powder...!
I too always thought it was weird that the dust was still there and not cleaned up. When the skutters are cleaning the corridors, they must have been told to clean around the dust I guess? Also how come the Cat evolution didnt affect the dust, did they not explore the ship enough to come into contact with the dust? I guess it doesnt really matter though
The cats were sealed in the hold until Lister was woken from stasis in The End. Our Cat is the first of his species to explore that far into the ship, that's why 3 million years of cat society has had no impact on the crew quarters at all.
that makes alot of sense!
Simon generally does
