Not long now! Hope it lives up to all the expectations. Might even make an early start on my easter egg seeing as it is a special occasion.

    Advert break.

Very good so far - especially liking the atmosphere. Feels a LOT like seasons 1 and 2.

    Okay, I am *loving* this!

The Picture Quality is *amazing* and the ship looks fantastic. The first scenes where hilarious.

The CGI skutter was a bit naff but, what the hell!

This had everything I loved from Red Dwarf.

Also, I loved the tribute to Mel Bibby in there. Pure class.

    SO EXCITED!!!!

    This is awful.
The canned laughter operator is still waiting for something funny.

It's the Phantom Menace all over again.
Bad move putting an old episode on straight after.
    Makes it look even worse!

Had some trouble getting on here, mass traffic? :-D

Thoughts. Well it wasn't really hugely funny to me, but it wasn't unfunny either. What I mean is that there aren't loads of jokes and even the jokes that are there aren't sidespitting but there's nothing toe curlingly bad. I can live with that. This is a sci fi drama comedy and it's ok so far although it seemed way too short. Also no mention of what happened at the end of the last series but Rimmer did hint at the two holograms thing...maybe that will be resolved. There were a few funny lines too. Character wise, Rimmer seems a tad off but Kryten feels more like the old Kryten rather than the one from the last 2 series.

Was a tad dissapointed at the opening titles though, thought something special would've been nice rather than the familier montage

CGI, Set and general picture quality are amazing, truly amazing..
The whole RD package felt so fresh and clean - Well done once again Doug Naylor!
and a few sources saying that episodes 2 and three are better yet, i can't wait for the next installment :-)

I loved the storyline, thought it was classic Red Dwarf humourwise but missed the audience laughter of a series.
Haven't seen much of Katerina but already don't think that much of her character and that dodgy sequence and music with the tenticle in the lab.
Loved the Rimmer dancing and them battling but it did go on a bit.
It is only part 1 of 3 and its good on its own, so hopefully the whole thing will be outstanding.

I liked it. I thought it was a bit slow though but hopefully it'll pick up a bit in the next two episodes. I thought the scene with Lister reading to Kochanski was brilliantly done, especially when he hoped that Sense and Sensibility would have some car chases in :-)

Looking forward to the next two episodes.

....I thought it was bloody fantastic, frankly.

I am still puzzled by the plot but I can't fault this episode at all. It made me laugh out loud, my mates feel exactly the same. It nodded back to all previous series and all sorts of other things while keeping it's own unique, fresh style.

Lack of audience does work and makes it feel a lot less tacky in many ways. This does not deminish the old Dwarf which should have laughter tracks, but it's Red Dwarf keeping with the times IMO. It shouldn't have one in this day and age.

I don't understand the negativity really now I've seen it. I thought that was the best thing ever, I'm buzzing my man-boobs off over here.

I liked it. The only gripe I had was with that CGI Skutter. It just really didn't feel like a skutter without being slightly clunky and slow. The CGI Skutter felt... a bit wrong I suppose.

It would definitely benefit from all three parts being viewed on one sitting though.

at first i was disappointed but when i look back on it there were a few good moments the cats'testicle' line was funny and the scene with the squid thing in the diving bell was good.

even with some funny moments i still hope episode 2 and 3 are a bit better than this one.:?
