    I don't see this working too well. If Americans like a British/UK programme they just remake it for American audiences.

    Not always. Many get broadcast on BBC America or Masterpiece on PBS.

    How about the BBC launch a netflix type service here in the UK for people who pay the licence fee. The BBC iplayer is a waste of time as the programs you may want to watch have disappeared within a few weeks. I may have missed the point in this as I didn't bother to read the article but there ya go.
