BBC showed a pathetic thing called Last of the Summer Wine with Michael Bates, Peter Sallis & that Rowbotham.. being repulsive.

Well, I never saw any of the earlier ones. The Last of the Summer Wine I know is the terrible programme it was in its later years. Maybe it was all right in the early days, but the episodes I saw were awful and embarrassing.

I shouted at some man "You keep away from us! I can tell by the redness of your nose you've got cold germs"! He scuttled off revealing white clogs on his feet!

I shouted "And get rid of those ridiculous shoes too!"

Well it certainly was awful, especially when compo fell off a wall every week, or the three of them went down a hill in a bathtub. But the earlier episodes were good, any episode with wally batty in it was pretty much guaranteed good. When he and sid left, it went downhill (in a bathtub). Of course, it helped if you grew up watching it in those earlier years to.

one of the things that I find unforgivable by the BBC is that they didn't end the final episode of the final series with any sort of fanfare. You'd think that the longest running british sitcom would deserve something, especially given the special endings they give to half of the crap they show. but zilcho. it's one of the two things I cant forgive the bbc for, the other being the Steptoe and son remake

All these jubilee celebrations seem malapropos; in a time of economic recession, the Queen should have set an example of austerity.

What's worse, somebody getting you a jar of dirt, or you defiling it?

Well I suppose that would depend on the dirt, and the maker quality of the jar

It wasn't much of a thread to begin with. Derailing it only improves it.

I know you didn't ask for it, but I just felt like giving my opinion on it. And I know you just love reading my opinions on everything, Ant.
