Thank you for that wonderful insight into your world.
I will be speedballing.
No alcohol for me. I'm going to watch with a coffee.
See you all on the other side!
It's going to be interesting.
See you all at the break.
Here we go, see you at the break for part 1 analysis!
I'm so pissed off with Dave right now!
Our TV has gone down and so I'm all ready with everything I need to watch episode 3 only to find out that the bloosy arseholes don't have a live stream on their website! Not only that, I can't get any of the illegal streaming sites to work either.. Livid just doesn't do my mood justice right now!
You're behind the times Dave!
brilliant so far
I was just thinking to myself 'Why would Kryten have a time-travel 'return remote' for the rejuvenation pod', but then realised that the remote could have possibly functioned as a 'revert the effects' of the rejuvenation pod. How this would possibly send them back through time again is heavy artistic merit, though
These new episodes are slowly starting to feel a little more like classic 'Dwarf. Snappier and shorter jokes, less continuity between gags ("see you in 10 minutes?".... ugh!).
An some awesome fan-service: An explanation for Rimmer's middle name!
Ooh, where to start...
Have to say I'm not liking this at all so far. I'm surprised this wasn't the episode everyone was saying would be divisive... I haven't laughed or smiled once yet so far. Very very poor.
I'm enjoying this so far. The sets look fantastic!
I've had a few good laughs so far, but it's been a bit slow. I hope it picks up a bit after the break.
Other than the "Why would there be a returner remote??," unless this was to revert the rejuvenation effects, the episode has been downright more reminiscent of classic dwarf than any other episode. I think this will be my favourite so far.
shocked by the series 2 montage music
I'm loving it. Feels very like the Dwarf of old. Particularly liked the use of Series 2's incidental music - a real nod to the fans!
Definitly the fav of the series so far judging from part 1.
The Judas thing had me laughing, and I have an idea that Rimmer may turn out to BE Judas... therefore inspiring his own middle name... I dunno, just a hunch.
But yeah, it FEELS like dwarf... I'm laughing, and I'm enjoying.
Rather "meh" at half time for me.
Rapid fire storytelling...that then oddly went into that quite nice extended monologue by Rimmer about the Church of Judas.
Oh and....Rimmer's parent's: no longer Seventh Day Advent Hopists then?
Lister's "We have to get back to the Dwarf and look for Kochanski" was a bit out of nowhere too.
Daft but great so far. Cat getting some great lines!
I read a comment on the forums recently where someone was ragging on the new series saying that it was a sell-out, didn't feel like the classic series, felt too different etc.
Yes, the actors are older, and yes the writing dynamic has completely changed. But it really has to be taken as a completely separate entity - much in the same way people took the differences between series 6, 7 and 8.
A lot of new people have been complaining about the series so far, but then again a lot of people (myself included) are just happy to see Craig, Bobby, Danny and Chris back on the screen, whether good or bad.
It feels a bit hammy sometimes, but I still wouldn't miss an episode, and I still feel a great comfort from watching my favourite characters bum around on screen, even if some of the gags make me groan!
Not everyone will like it, but a lot of others will. You'll just have to agree to disagree with others, but feel free to offer your insights into your particular disappointments (or enjoyments!) of the show!
I think this will be one I like as I think back on it more and watch it more times. So far, it hasn't done much for me. And I've a nasty feeling I know what's coming. Also, since when did Rimmer like Jesus?
How did we make it all this way without a Last Supper gag? Genius!
