Trojan was great as a series opener but if it were the second or third episode I would be dissapointed but as an opening episode I give it an 8/10. My opinion on Fathers and Suns is more mixed but the good aspects such as Lister's fatherly advice to himself and the opening scene with Pree give it an 8/10 also. My opnion on Lemons is generally positive but for me the big let down was the transition between Britain and India, both because it is extremely disjointed and unrealistic. It's a shame too because it could've been solved by a simple rewrite but overral I'd give Lemons a 7/10.

I found the beginning of "Lemons", particularly all the Shakespeare stuff (which was truly, truly awful and misjudged) to be pretty lame. The second half I very much enjoyed, and in spite of the odd misplaced gag, piece of exposition (what was that Kochanski smeg about?) and plot element, all of which can be found in many episodes of Red Dwarf, I thought it contained moments of brilliance. I don't ask for much (series VIII fan;-)) so I'm especially looking forward to tonight's episode.

SlainMonkey, it's "than", not "then". I know you don't mean any harm but you do this constantly and it impedes the reading of your posts!

Going by the trailer, it looks like it's set to be like a classic clever RD episode but then we can't always rely on spoilers. I have a good feeling about this one though. I've been waiting for this one the whole series so far. Quite frankly it couldn't be any worse than last weeks :-)

The Lister losing Rimmer story with Gelf's (or whatever they are) looks a lot like Polymorph 2, and the Kryten/Cat thing looks funny at first but if overdone will be very annoying and stale,

Now to the positives, Polymorph 2 is a class episode :-D

This is one of the episodes I've been looking forward to most. Won't be able to catch it until the late, late viewing on Dave Ja Vu though.

And so we're about to encounter the second half of series X. It's been all right so far, but I'm hoping it'll get better. All the first six series had at least one classic or semi-classic episode, and I'm hoping series X will have one. From what I've heard, maybe that will be episode 6.
