With all that series I/The End stuff, it could be really
big and fat return.
This was definitely one of my theories. Or maybe
I decided to be surprised
Very unwise. I recommend you pay attention in future!
Excited as I am for Skipper, I'm also a little sad that we've finally reached this point as I don't want the series to be over! I had a similar feeling last year, only this time it's much, much worse as there is no longer definitely going to be any Red Dwarf in the future (terrible sentence, but you know what I mean).
It's the end of a mini-era, which began with that announcement at DJ 2 1/2 years ago. I think I must have spent every day since then looking forward to the new episodes - isn't it the most exciting thing to be watching brand new Red Dwarf? It's been fantastic to have these two series, but... it's not enough, I want more!! (what I mean, of course, is that I'd be extremely grateful to have more).
A potential series XIII is probably a while off though, so I'm hoping that there will be something to mark the anniversary in February - just to help with the withdrawal symptoms a bit.
Couldn't agree more.
What we really need is some sort of official confirmation soon so we do at least know it's coming. The Radio Times link seems to be sure Doug is writing Series XIII. What I really want to hear is that Dave have commissioned a Series XIII. I made the point in another thread that we live in a world where some TV networks commission new series of shows annually in the blink of an eye. Netflix even commissioned season 2 of Mindhunter before season 1 even aired...
I'll never understand how skittish networks can be. The fans want more Red Dwarf, Doug wants more Red Dwarf, UKTV apparently wants more... well prove it!
I'd maybe not expect an announcement this week, but one week tomorrow after the XII finale has aired on Dave would be the perfect opportunity to just say: "Red Dwarf will be back for a new series". No ETA or timescales, just a plain signal that it will be back (once Doug has written it, once the boys are available etc.).
This will be my first time since I first heard about the show that I will be experiencing this no new dwarf phenomenon. Anybody else a first-timer?
Thing is, I wouldn't actually give a monkeys if it was (person hinted at behind Ascelepius Spoiler) - I'd find that quite underwhelming to be honest. If it is (person hinted at behind Aseclepius Spoiler) I would rather that they had been in the previews and the other return had been the one kept secret.
IF however it is not (person hinted at behind Ascelepius Spoiler) and is instead (person hinted at behind Chris D Spoiler) then I would do a little happy dance.
Unless of course I'm thinking of a different (person hinted at behind Chris D spoiler) than Chris D is!
You're all going to be so disappointed by the return of Birdman.
It's going to be Ziggy isn't it ...*cries*
Fan favorite 'Thickie Holden' returns for Red Dwarf XII's epic finale!!!
It's going to be so good to see Todhunter again.
So glad it's Thursday today. Some new Dwarf is exactly what I need when I get home tonight.
Don’t forget Peterson too!
We must confirm!
I'm thinking the female Holly might pop up.
The return of Olaf Petersen would be great given he's now Father Brown.
Why did Mark Williams not return in Series VIII?
