I think Dave would be mad not to do another series...it's their highest rated show ever in their broadcast history, and they're looking to expand their original programming...not signing off on a series that has been very well received by the general public might be a signal that they're not willing to put in that little bit extra that programme makers are looking for from a TV studio. Red Dwarf, obviously has a presence - whether they watch or not, people know the show. They know the actors. And It's also got the inbuilt viewership that gives it an advantage over new shows which may actually require more financial input from Dave than Red Dwarf gets.

The biggest problem I can see with series XI is Craig - Corrie's given him time off for both BTE and now X...It might prove more difficult the next time around.

These 30 minutes are sure going to take their merry time.

The following 30 minutes will be over in a blink, such is the tragedy of Red Dwarf

Aw Smeg! I just checked the website and it won't be up until 9:39:-(

I'm sure I read somewhere that Craig said Corrie were willing to give him time off for Red Dwarf whenever needed, coz the producers are all big fans... something like that.

I'm getting really excited about The Beginning now. More than I have about any other episode this series.

I hope that's right, cos if it is, it's a big relief to me!

They must have some RD fans at Corrie, or BTE would never have happened :-)

There's certainly got to be an element of that, otherwise the crossover event that was Back To Earth wouldn't have been possible :-)

In any case I'm sure the CS production team are aware of how much Red Dwarf means to Craig Charles, and would be absolutely barking mad to create a conflict when there's no real need. In CS, secondary characters are always disappearing for months at a time and it's not unheard of for actors to leave temporarily at a moment's notice because of other real-world commitments.

If a Red Dwarf XI ends up being greenlit, it's all but assured Craig will find the time :-)

SEB! You're dangerously close to losing a Twitter follower for the next 10 minutes! Some of your tweets have been semi-spoiler-ish-cryptic type things!

7 minutes to go. From what I have heard this episode will be quite eye opening and should have everyone buzzing on here after it finishes... I can't wait!

Looks as though it's going to be a slightly late start. It's 8:59 and Top Gear's still on.
