The knife bit went on a bit long, but I can forgive one small foible.

Good start, the rogue droid was a bit silly, simulants not bad. Promising so far.

It certainly looks like the most engaging story of the series. I'm really intrigued as to where it will go now.

Woah! Awesomeness! This is certainly a pretty wacky episode isn't it? :-D

    Great casting for young Rimmer.

    Some beautiful visual effects.

    Loved that opening shot!

    Also, Cat's sleeping quarters!

..and other things I'm sure I'm missing at this point. :-)

The simulant bit at the start went on too long and wasn't that funny, and the same lines get repeated over and over and obvious jokes are pointed out, something we know will happen again later in the episode (forks and sharpener bit). Nice to see the school at the start and Rimmer's comeback to the girl who was trying to help him was brilliant. Hopefully the second half picks up. Seems to be good so far though.

Hardly a decent gag so far. Once again, everything that should be a quick, throwaway gag is done to death and over explained. Quite like the simulants. I love Rimmer being used as a guinea pig in class.

Enjoying it - liked the joke about the Simulant being directed to Lister but I didn't realise he was saying "you killed my brother" until Lister said "no I didn't". I thought he was saying "your keys, my brother" as in the keys to Red Dwarf!

The one thing I'll say about this series as a whole is that it has good jokes and character scenes but the scripts feel really flabby to me, they could have done with a bit more tighter editing. Just one nit-pick though as I've thoroughly enjoyed the majority of the series. :-)

I get the feeling some of that might have been in the movie script.

Good beginning, really like the end. The middle wasn't great but overall I liked it. For me Trojan and this episode are easily the best of the series

Oh my god they stitched us up over the series VIII ending again

To be honest I think it wouldn't fit if they just explained it in the middle of a show

Well we know which Rimmer we have but:

We don't know why he's not Ace anymore
We don't know what happened to the other Rimmer
We don't know what happened to the crew

But that was a great episode...Who'd have thought that Arnold Rimmer's battle plan would work!

Hmm, I'd only rate this episode as average unfortunately. It was quite good in parts, but Fathers and Suns was way funnier.

That was very good, not quite a classic to rank alongside Gunmen, Back to Reality and others, but very good nonetheless.
