You know Watergate is actually a place in Washington? It's really annoying when people take scandals and put 'gate' on the end of them!

If Norman changes, I'll forgive him, as I'm sure a lot of fans will. But if he wants to walk away from the large, loyal fanbase that he has from Red Dwarf, that's his prerogative. Red Dwarf is back, and Norman can't take that away from us. We've still got Craig, Chris, Danny, Robert and Hattie, and that's something to be grateful for. It's not worth getting upset about what Norman thinks or says! Besides, his gripe seems to be with Doug and GNP, and all the fans will side with Doug and GNP if it comes to it.

Why couldn't you have asked this question in the existing thread?

If there was a scandal at Watergate, it would now be called Watergategate.

Wasn't that a joke on "That Mitchell and Webb Look" at some point? Probably long before that too, but it's too hard to keep up with who created what joke...

It's certainly been around in the Footlights for a long time. I remember using it in a Footlights Debate in 2002, but it was a traditional line to deliver even then...
