I've heard of quite a lot of those films, but I've only seen a few of them. But then I'm not a horror movie fanatic like you, Neil.

Being a search result it loads on forever, so I only looked at the first two or three pages. Most I haven't seen and they all look much of a muchness. But a few stood out. Particularly House. I remember that being a genuinely good film. Creepy, but still within the realms of a sort of comic-book style of horror.
There's an overweight zombie woman running around and he cuts off her head with a spade, but the whole premise is still creepy. He's a writer and he's having a breakdown because of his unresolved issues from the Vietnam War where he had to leave his buddy behind to die. And he's staying in this old house to finish his book, but he's got writer's block. But the house has a sort of portal into his subconscious where all these ghouls start coming out, and then he gets sucked into it. Then the ghouls kidnap his son or something. Then the ghoul of his Vietnam buddy comes back and reminds him that he left him there to die, and the protagonist has to finally decide that it wasn't his fault and he couldn't have saved him.

I love the House movies, especially the original and House II: The Second Story. I was always a big fan of the Fright Night films too. And Creepshow, the Evil Dead, Return of the Living Dead, The Gate, The Lost Boys, The Dream Warriors, and...sooo many more. The 80's were awesome for movies! :-)

Nikki, why do you keep asking gopoloimaxuk's opinion in every thread?

They were certainly great for horror movies. I was a big fan of both the Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th series.

Because I'm interested in his opinion. Now tell me this - why are you not more interested in his opinion?

    Why?

On a side note I'm one of the few people that love slashers and hate Freddy movies

Yeah, they were both pretty decent franchises for the genre. I preferred the Elm Street films for the most part, but have the complete Friday the 13th collection too. Along with the amazingly long documentary 'Crystal Lake Memories' (which I've still not watched all the way through).

I love 80s horror boxart. Its always so colourful, and is usually ten times better than the actual movie. I particularly like natural horror from the 70s and eighties, stuff like jaws, the swarm etc. Because they always make the creatures on the cover to be ten times larger than they actually turn out to be
