the chocoalate tunnel trip (literally) from willy wonka and the chocolate factory. It was really nightmarish and unexpected and confirmed that gene wilder's willy wonka was a complete loony

I don't like Charlie and the Chocolate factory, the book or the movie and have never watched the Tim Burton version all the way through.

I've got to admit that I only ever read the book once, seen Gene Wilder's version once (he weirded me out), and the Johnny Depp version once (even though he didn't weird me out).

Great book, read it at least fifty times, the gene wilder film is great and the Johnny Depp one is rubbish

The movies were tolerable I suppose. Never read the book. Much prefer the Family Guy episode "The Beer Room" parody of it.

I hate that film. And yeah I hate that scene. I mean was it REALLY necessary to show a chicken being decapitated?

And just the whole spirit of the film was messed up anyway. You never see if the kids are alive afterwards, and there's such an air of child killer surrounding Wonka, that I kinda doubt they are.

And, aside from Verucca (Billy) Salt, the crimes of these kids were pretty mimimal - being fat, chewing gum and watching tv. Really doesn't justify luring them to a sweet factory and bumping them off.

Well they were quite annoying as well. I think old Billy did the right thing. Should have made sure Charlie the lemonade thief was sliced to ribbons by those blades though.

It's Dahl, so it's gonna be dark. I think the fact that he's meant to be nice, but is actually a loony is what makes him great. I love when Augustus is drinking the chocolate from the lake, he says 'no don't do that Augustus' in such a quiet voice that makes it obvious he so wants it. That's what's great about him.. he's real nice and also real psycho

He doesn't lure the kids, they're the ones that come to him, especially varuca, and who's fault is it they get in trouble? Theirs, and there's your moral of the tale

Yeah, Dahl the Nazi sympathiser. I hate him and all he stood for tbh. I hate most of his creations, but Willy Wonka especially. But then most of his books seemed to involve mass child murder.

He totally lured those kids in. They didn't just break in did they? And he absolutely knew only one kid would survive his children's version of Saw, cos he knew he was only leaving his factory to one.

Also he collects chicken slaughter porn and projects it into a weird tunnel. Asshat.

I've got the Gene Wilder one on VHS, and so my sister and I watched it both forwards and backwards quite a few times. It's much better backwards tbh.

You know...... I can in a way. Its much less graphic and bloody but the premise is close. Lose the assigned task and die is the core of each. Saw wasn't geared towards children though and like it or not Wonka was.
