I never quite got the appeal of Friends. Its humor is low quality at best most of the time when it's even present, and the show never made me give a half a poo about the characters, and with neither of those I saw no reason to keep watching.

big ole. study the works of Ronnie Barker and also Peter cook and peter sellars if you wanna understand what is meant by the phrase 'british comic genius, and definitely look at tony hancock's hancock's half hour is you wanna see pure british sitcom genius in its founding and possibly most influential form

    It wasn’t that good.

It was, at times, a bit dull! How’s that for you?

I've tried watching a few episodes of Hancock's Half Hour on Youtube, but I couldn't get into them. I don't doubt that some people out there must find them funny, but for some reason it just doesn't work for me.

Hancock was massively influential and important to british comedy. Just study the style of that kinda sitcom too see it in so many classic british sitcoms. Also how many 'hancocks' we've had over the years. Basil Fawlty, captain Mainwaring, to nane but two, who themselves are also regarded in such high esteeem

I don't think I have seen Porridge, if I have it doesn't stand out to me. I do know Ronnie Baker, seen him in The Two Ronnies and other shows.
