When I first saw the trailer I thought the nose must have been made like that for some reason, either Kryten was in some kind of accident, or they made him look comically old for a laugh. But like has been said before, I don't mind the change as he still looks like Kryten to me, if a possibly slightly grumpier one.

Main thing is everything in the show looks good and looks like Red Dwarf, and that's all good to me.

Yeah. I suddenly realised that his face/mask didn't look wrong about half way through. And then spent the second half thinking, 'Oh yeah. It is still a funny shape. But looks much better in the light. Now it's been pointed out, i hope I'm not going to spend all of my RDX viewing time staring at the mask!!

    (I won't...not once they start talking :-) )

The new mask for SX looks pretty awful; I guess we'll have to see in the show; but I hate the nose, why is it so different? I quite liked the BTE head an is quite similar to the last few seasons. The shoulder hoops are really sticking out but hopefully it's a big fuss over nothing.

I read that the nose was made in that shape to make it easier for Bobby to breath.

I'll get used to it there's not too many changes made. Anyway it's not supposed to look fancy it looks like an amusingly shaped ice cube / head of a used crash dummy!

Robert signed up to this forum one night about seven years ago, and a few of us noticed him in the active users list. This was in the days of the forum's previous format where you could send someone an instant message that would appear on their screen as a little pop-up, and I was tempted to send him one but lacked the confidence. He never logged in again.

Not a fan of the new costume, as well as the mask, the body part seems really weird, not sure if it' just cos Robert's put on some weight, but I don't think so. The chest panels just seem too small and the monitor is also really tiny.

I do like the fact it's a more black finish rather than a cheap silver spray paint look though, which I think BTE had.

What's everyone's favourite costume? I think series VI was the best looking one overall, though I do have a fondness for the watch and pointy boots of IV and V. VII looked like a cheap version of VI (too silvery, though the mask was nice) VIII looked even cheaper and the nose was kind of big and flat.

I'm sure I'd heard Bobby say that he'd lost weight from BtE. But, I can't remember where...
