I'm sure you know what I mean by this; those exchanges, lines, moments of slapstick that never fail to conjure up a belly laugh... obviously more so than the others funny moments.

For me, quite a number of these are one-liners, but they always get me. A lot of the time, they're not even especially clever, but they just 'get me' for whatever reason. Here's a few:

Rimmer: "Would it hurt you to have hair like mine?" (I even laugh just typing it out :-D)

Lister: "Rimmer! You could not pull a rotten tooth out of a dead horse's head with that one!"

Lister: "Rimmer, you're a [insert any insult here]"

    Lister: "Drop dead, Rimmer!"
    Rimmer: "I already am dead."
    Lister: "Encore!"

Holly's speech at the end of Queeg.

Lister: "Have you ACTUALLY read any of it?" (when Rimmer is going on about how obscene it would be to burn Shakespeare works).

    Kryten: "You're LYYIIINGG!"

The very end of Kryten's malfunction fit after Lister removes the fire axe from his spine, just before he headbutts the pillar.

Kryten: "I know. I had a mechanoid friend once who suffered from the same affliction. His name was Gilbert, but he preferred it if people called him "Rameses Niblick the Third, Kerplunk Kerplunk, Whoops, Where's My Thribble." A sad case." :-D :-D

    Oh, and my current signature.

"You better have a mighty damn fine explanation for what you've just done, m'laddio" - Rimmer to Legion

When you see Lister's golf ball land, followed by Cats golf club in Better Than Life.

"As for the Cat what an unbelievable GIT!" - Rimmer in Out of Time.

"With respect Sir you've got your head right up your big fat arse" - Rimmer to Hollister, Stasis Leak

"Shut up Rimmer you dead Git!" - Rimmer in Me2.

It's a good scene that but slightly marred by Timothy Spall's fake Birmingham accent. He did the same godawful accent in Auf Wiedersehen, Pet if I remember correctly.

We've had this conversation before. It's his Brummie accent that makes it for me..., 'You twonk!"

And yes, Barry was a Brummie, too, in Auf Pet... the greatest television series ever made.

WOW ! Tim Spall is one of the best actors in television of this time. I thought his Brummie accent in Auf Wiedersehen Pet was pretty spot on. Granted I'm not from that area so can understand if I am wrong but I also hear both Birmingham accents are quite different in Red Dwarw/Auf wiedersehen.

Agreed. And it's thicker and more exaggerated in RD.

Kryten: "Never been better, thank you, sir. A key-ring with a 'C' on it! Unbelievable! Thank you with a capital 'R'!"

"I've come to regard you as people I met."

That was a superb line from an episode I don't really care for! (Holoship)

A good line that and very true to Rimmer's personality.

I'm proud to say I used that very line on my siblings when they were all getting mushy during Siblings Day a couple of weeks ago. It didn't go down too well.

Rimmer: "Step up to Red Alert"
Kryten: "Sir, are you absolutely sure? That does mean changing the bulb"

I've seen it a hundred times, and I still laugh my head off at that bit!:-D:-D

After watching Camille I forgot how funny this line from Kryten was...

"But you don't know them. You'll like them. Well, SOME of them. Well, ONE of them. Maybe."
