Guess it's the cynic in me that thinks at the simplest level it's open to people to improve their chances by getting others who may not themselves be particularly interested to apply on their behalf. As you say though its hardly as if first come first served was perfect. I myself wasn't aware of it till too late last time. So guess this time i'm at least in the draw.

I've not seen a single winner in any of the forums or Facebook groups I'm involved in. You'd think active members of the fan community would get first dibs, but apparently only casual viewers won tickets.

It was a random thing was it not? How do you know only casual viewers won tickets?

It's disgusting really. The forum members should have got first dibs. Although no doubt the folk at Ganymede and Titan will obtain some leftover tickets!!

Well not really, there is 14,000 people trying to get tickets so why should there be special treatment placed to some forum members

I don't think that's a fair thing to say at all. Firstly, you don't know how "casual" or otherwise any of the fans who got tickets actually are. Secondly, the process was entirely random, so there was no system whereby people were judged on how "active" a member of the community they were - the whole thing was designed to give people as fair a crack as possible, and there was certainly no "first dibs".

And thirdly, gatekeeping isn't nice. A fan is a fan is a fan. Everyone who has expressed an interest in going to see the show being filmed deserves an equal chance to do so, and I'm sure that every single person who's got tickets will absolutely love the experience.

Judging by the tweet on the front page from LITV (basically "people successful in the 1st ballot who still haven't claimed - please do so"), it would appear that the second ballot hasn't gone out yet.

You're right, I apologize for my wording, I didn't mean to imply people who watch the show but don't frequent the forums or groups are any less of a fan, (you know I'm actually firmly against that line of thinking); What I meant was it's a shame that it's possible that a good amount of the winners are probably those who just sign up for any ol' thing just hoping to win tickets for something, and don't really care about the show per se. Whether that's true or not I don't know, it just seemed weird that no one here, on G&T and the thousands of people on the Facebook pages seemed to have won.

Honestly, I strongly doubt that's the case. And I've seen plenty of people on Twitter and Facebook talking about getting them who are obviously fans who only signed up for LITV just to apply. Compared to the 14,000 people who applied, there aren't actually proportionally that many people active here or on G&T, y'know?

(And to be honest, if someone's the kind of person who constantly applies for TV show tickets indiscriminately and got some for Dwarf... well, aren't they dedicated members of the seeing-TV-shows-filmed community, so shouldn't they deserve it as well? ;-) )

Seb is correct. I apologise for my moaning/negativity.
