The Model shots look like they are gonna be more old school and an improvement over Red Dwarf X

Indeed. RDX's model shots didn't have motion-tracking camera thingamybobs, and XI/XII will, which bodes very well for getting nice shots of the Dwarf again (with it looking like the ship's moving, and not the camera).

The Starbug crash looks a bit disappointing but we must remember that it's just a static model shot - it'll look a lot better in the finished production, with numerous effects and lighting added.

I'm just praying this new series is going to be more Red Dwarf and less 'Silly Sitcom Set in Space'. Series X completely forgot what it was supposed to be.

Very exciting to see the Starbug picture pop up on the site yesterday! I wonder how many 3D printed models they are making and whether this means there are going to be a fair few crashes in the new series.

Not a very good model of the bug though is it?

I like it. Though you can't really see it properly in this shot as it's half-covered in sand/dust.

Do you not think? I think it looks great! Don't forget, they will look much better when shot properly.

We will still have to see how the models look in the final edit but I too feel that in these pictures they look pretty impressive. I didn't think the modelwork in series 10 was completely terrible but I hope to see the models in series 11/12 be of the standard or even better than those in The Beginning. The Beginning was much more like how they should look IMHO.
