The Lister and Rimmer kiss in series 7 blue, was so unexpected but really funny.
Other than my signature, it would have to be in Waiting For God when Lister and Rimmer are talking about the alien (garbage) pod, and Lister calls it tot so they have their little shout-off. The way Rimmer exasperatedly calls him a 'Bastard!' when he walks back in the room gets me everytime.
Along similar lines, in Polymorph when they're discussing their tactics in taking on the monster. Lister comes to just in time to announce 'I say we get out there and TWAT it'. Perfectly delivered
I liked the bit where Kryten's head exploded and his eyes were floating in the coffee cup.
I tried to make an animated GIF of it, but failed spectacularly....this is all I got Linked to it as for some reason it won't post
I can't see it. All I get is "You are not authorised to download this attachment".
Try this link see if it shows up at the bottom of the forum thread. I was trying to avoid links direct to my friends forum...
No, at the bottom of the post it says "You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post."
That is weird...I thought it was open for all to see. I know a few people who aren't members of the site who have viewed it no problem before...
RIMMER: Holly, I'd like to send an internal memo. Black border. Begins, "To Dave Lister, Condolences on your passing away." What's that poem? "Now, weary traveller, rest your head, for just like me, you're utterly dead."
LOL Completely sums Rimmer up.
The Queeg reveal, no matter how many times I see that it's still hilarious.
Up there with the best
idk the exact quote but it was from "epideme"
Cat: ARE YOU INSANE,you already failed the pingpong tournament now your gonna lose the yo-yo championships
Lol reminds me of another funny cat quote about the yoyo from season 1
cat: i found this shiny thing. now i have no idea what its for but i found that you can put the shiny thing on the top and the string on the bottom or - and this is the good part, - you can have the string on the top and the shiny thing on the bottom
I love Rimmer - and he has some fantastic lines in Quarantine Pretty much my favourite episode of series 5.
Rimmer: I was just doing a little test -- a little test to see if you had gone crazy.
Rimmer: (YELLS) If there is one thing I can't stand it's crazy people.
Lister: Well we've passed the test, Rimmer. You can let us out.
Rimmer: I can't let you out.
Lister: Why not?
Rimmer: Because the King of the Potato People won't let me. I begged him. I got down on my knees and wept. He wants to keep you here. Keep you here for ten years.
Cat: Could we see him?
Rimmer: See who?
Cat: The King.
Rimmer: Do you have a magic carpet?
Lister: Yeah, a little three-seater.
Rimmer: So, let me get this straight. You want to fly on a magic carpet to see the King of the Potato People and plead with him for your freedom, and you're telling me you are completely sane?! :P
The funniest part about that to me was the coincedence that i wanted a tv show known as taut when i was a kid. it would be a combination of me,conan from cased closed, megaman, sora, and of course, red dwarf
...my childhood SUCKED
I love ya for that
Holly always cracks me up. One of my favorite jokes is from 'Thanks for the Memory'
LISTER : "On this very special occasion, I've baked a cake."
HOLLY : "What's that, then?"
LISTER : "It's a spanner, Hol. Because he was a technician."
HOLLY : "Oh that's very apt, that is. If he was a postman, you would have baked in the shape of an envelope I suppose."
LISTER : "Yeah."
HOLLY : "Gordon Bennet. It's lucky he wasn't a gynecologist."
OR from 'Cassandra'
"Mark my words. Time is a great healer. Unless you've got a rash, in which case you're better off with ointment."
Krytie TV, isn't it? It's the only Norman line I can recall from series 8 that wouldn't have been out of place in series 1 and 2.
I don't think so. I'm pretty sure it is Cassandra, but I'll check...
Rimmer " It's my duty, my duty as a complete and utter BASTARD" thats one of my favorites. The funniest ones are all about the timing and there is plenty of good timing.
i love the eating with egg wisks.
Yeah, it always struck me as quite reminiscent of "It is better to have loved and to have lost, than to listen to an album by Olivia Newton John".
