Ah, the freedom of fan edits. We'd never have been able to afford having that many guest cast members in the opening titles!
Plus half the plot! Too much information really.

Can't resist doing these. Always think it's the last one, then somebody persuades me to do one more(!)

ETD on youtube
I enjoyed that
Promise I will watch it, but I'm juggling three forums at once here, and all of a sudden they've decided to be very active! Will watch it in the morning.
I dont get it????
I'll let you figure that one out
Well, it's just a fan made trailer for BTE, what's there to get?
aww love that, makes me wanna watch it again for the 4th time lol why did that person say they didnt get it? lol
I don't know!
I dont get what they are other than opening titles, one looks very familiar.
Very good, pointless but good
Well of course it looks familiar! It's from Red Dwarf!
Is It?? I thought they were from Star Trek.. or Star wars.... sheesh, do you think my brain works like Listers???.
I dont get what they are for, The Original Poster does not explain anything other than a subtle hint in the title. Are they just his ideas/creations for a movie trailer or his own take on a BTE trailer? Or..... what?
The second one looks Almost Identical to the BTE opening sequence.
Okay, I'll try to explain.
Editing is a creative process. Just like, say, writing or drawing. Some people write fan fiction - using Red Dwarf's characters and setting and making up their own stories. Some people draw pictures of create paintings of the characters from the show.
And some people edit material from the shows in new and interesting ways. So, as the title thread explains, we have a fan edit of what a movie-style trailer of Back to Earth might be like. And the second video shows a very different title sequence, created as an alternative to the one the show actually had. It's a 'If I were making the show, this is how I'd have done it' project.
