Anyone on here a fellow fab of old jilted john himself, john shulltesworth? I've always like him. His humour is pretty weird, and there's sstrangeness about him, that you can definitely see in a lot on modern day 'quirky' comedians and stand ups.

He's definitely an acquired taste that you will either adore or think is awful. And he couldn't be any more northern english, I always think it's a pity that Graham fellows never gets the credit he deserves for him

I seem to recall that he used to appear on TV regularly back in the 1990s. I'm not a fan though.

I vaguely remember him from years back. Come to think if it, that would've been when I least heard Jilted John.

To pull this back on topic: yes, I am a massive, massive fan of Jilted John / John Shuttleworth / Graham Fellows. The Jilted John album is an absolute masterpiece (I wrote about it here), far better than the "one hit wonder" label he gets given because of the single (I also hate the way people think the single is called "Gordon is a Moron"!) Just bloody listen to this thing, for example:

First discovered Shuttleworth with 500 Bus Stops in the '90s, and that's still a classic. Was fortunate enough to see him in London a couple of years ago, it was fantastic - he had Mike Flowers as a special guest and they did his version of Wonderwall in the encore, too!

Also, Fellows did a solo album (maybe the only thing he's ever put out not under the name John?) in the '80s that not enough people have heard, but that's brilliant, too:

AND FINALLY, just to give this a Red Dwarf connection, he was a guest on one of our very own Bobby Llew's Car Pools!

I was especially pleased by that one because the road they're driving down at the start (and the garden centre they stop at) is literally round the corner from where I used to live!

Yes, 500 bus stops got me into him. Though I had seen him before that, but not really acknowledged him. I had the jilted john album many years ago and loved it. Did you see him recently on count Arthur strong, he was the highlight of what is a pretty poor show overall.

He has a sense of humour that highlights mundanity, and is an acquired taste. Anyway glad to see another fan

He's not a fan of buses. Why take the bus when you've got a perfectly good horse?

Damn you are always making me think of Tex in new lights.

The bus is a good dumping ground to be fair
