To be honest I don't know how you'd find anybody to do that. I would point out that the seller bought the eyes for the puppets on ebay and give them the item number. Also if it was original there would be a Grant Naylor tag inside. Point out the fact that the photo taken of the puppet differs from what you received - bow tie etc. Finally can 4 buyers all be wrong? Sorry this isn't much help but worth a shot.
That sucks, at least it wasent alot of money, maybe you could post it to one of the webbased retailers but to be honnest if there no money in it for them they'll probably ignor it. Try reselling it on ebay ?
I'd called PayPal earlier this week to inquire as to just who, in their opinion, was a suitable expert on replicas of toy props used in British science fiction television series from the '90s, and instead of saying, "Just send us detailed pictures of a fake one and a real one if you say it's so blatantly obvious what the difference is," like sane people would do, they suggested an going to an antiques mall to find an expert on toys. A couple of antiques malls (and a real mall, including an FYE, a Spencer's Gifts, a Build a Bear, a Toys R Us, and a seamstress) -- and nearly three hours -- later, I was still at a loss. So when I got home after that debacle yesterday, I did what I should have done in the first place, and sent a message to El Presidente, who has kindly agreed to help me out, without all the hemming and hawing I got from about seventeen people in quick succession. If PayPal won't take his word for it, it's doubtful they'd take anyone's. Where is everyone else in this claims process? It's very possible that I, in choosing "fake/counterfeit" as my PayPal claim category, just made it stupidly more difficult for myself, as I'm sure they usually get people brandishing fake watches and handbags, which would surely be easier to find an expert in.
Check your in boxes! I will provide anyone with a refund request with a letter and pictures of an original Fibble to prove it's validity as a fake. Sorry bit slow on this. Been a bit busy with this pod business :P
Argh, PayPal rejected my claim. Sure it's no one's fault but that f***er's. It's not so much the loss of money I'm aggrieved about, but the satisfaction given to that rat of a seller.
Paypal don’t give a monkeys about anyone but their own fat wallets. In short there’s only one winner here, paypal. I used to sell lots of stuff on ebay. Ebay/Paypal would take their rather generous percent from the listing/final bid and just when you thought you’re bank account was looking good. BANG! Paypay send you an email saying they want their monthly cut??? I sold an item for over £200,00 once and I swear over the space of 3 months ebay/paypal had taken a cut of £100,00:x
I've had a response from paypal: In order to continue with the investigation of your claim, we require that you destroy and discard the item in question and provide PayPal with a document confirming the items destruction. Please sign and date the document provided below, and return it to PayPal via fax OK then tonight I will perform the execution of my fake flibbe:twisted::twisted::twisted:
That sounds a bit suspect are you sure its not the seller trying to con you into destroying the evidence.
Yes it was genuine Big thanks to El Presidente, this is the email I received this morning: We have concluded our investigation into your case and have decided in your favour. We were able to recover 23.00 GBP, and this amount has been credited to you. Please allow five working days for this adjustment to be posted.
No, they simply said: We have concluded our investigation into this case. Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to decide this claim in your favor. Thanks, PayPal. I did spend quite a lot of time trying to get this resolved, and can only guess why they're willing to accept everyone else's case but mine!
Hmm, just a thought, but did you contact them before the deadline for getting a supporting letter expired? Mine would have expired on Monday but I got it extended after I emailed them to let them know I was contacting El Presidente & asked for a few more days.
