Yeah he said it in the mag. He said something like ‘another novel or some new episodes’ I’ll have a look when I’m back home and get the exact quote.

I suppose he could write some novels but there is no chance he can make any episodes, at least not without consulting with Doug. Could you imagine if Rob was to write a series of his own then trying to secure the same actors to play the parts without smoothing that out with the present production team? it would just be unethical and not something he would do in my opinion. The only options that could be possible are... 1-Write a new novel. 2-Team up with Doug again to have some input in a new series. 3-Write a TV spin off series. Personally I would love number 2.

I'm sure if he wanted he could just write one or two episodes of the new series and have Doug edit so they fit in the Dave style to test if he really still enjoys it and maybe they could go from there ….

I doubt Rob would want Doug to edit his scripts. perhaps Rob could write a script, let Doug read it and give some notes.

At this point, id rather they wrote together but id be curious to see a Solo Rob Grant script.

Why we suppose Rob and Doug can't cope with each other?
They are both directors of Grant Naylor Productions and Doug said they stil have meetings. They were both on the AA advert recording.
I'm not saying it's probable, they would write something together, but I think they can cooperate on something.

@Seb May know more, but I was under the impression Rob wasn’t a director of Grant Naylor anymore! Sure he still makes plenty of buck out of it

Do you think Doug ever goes by Douglas?

The last thing they worked together on was finishing the BodySnatcher script in 2007.

If you listen to the commentary for the bodysnatcher collection, which is one of the most enjoyable aspects. they do get on quite well. my guess though is that its just creative differences.

Yeah, that's sort of what I meant. Not super re-write, but just notes on what does/doesn't work for Dave. As I don't think Rob has written for TV for some time?
