I think the drawings are excellent. I may just have to get the books to see what else has been included...

Oh, we had a bit of fun with those; given that there's around sixty of them, sometimes we had to get a little creative... :-D

Excellent, my better half has been asking me what I'd like for Christmas, I'll put that on the list.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the kind words! I'll also be fielding questions here on this thread, whether it be about the process, a particular entry, or anything in general about the books. So ask away!

Not really, no. :-) As I may have mentioned in another thread, we had to make it two volumes because of Print-on-Demand's page count limit. To counteract that, we priced these books lower than our other publications so the hit of having to buy both books wasn't as hard. Essentially, we're making about the same on each pair of RD books as we are on any one of our other books.

Mine have arrived and I have to say I'm really impressed with them both. I'm glad it went over into two books. Apparently, this allowed for the inclusion of more of the illustrations which, as previously stated, are fantastic!

Thank you! Yep, once we realized it wasn't going to fit into one book, we had room to add things like more illustrations and the Categorical Index at the end of volume 2. We commissioned an additional 30 drawings (including some of the more ludicrous ones) once the size restriction was no longer an issue.

Arrived! My, what a LOT of material there is. How long did it take you Karnie? And what's next now it's done?

I know where you got your avatar from now :-)

Essential for the quiz at next year's DJ ;-)

Thank you! Writing took me three years, then editing and production was another nine months. As far as what's next, nothing is planned, although if there is a Series XI and beyond, I will be writing an addendum and posting it on our website for people who have the book to download and print out. I figured that would be easier and fairer to the people who've already purchased the books, rather than to update and put out a second edition.

Ah.. well... no, not really. :-D I still have my other two jobs, plus we've got a bunch of new books slated for 2015 that I have to work on, so free time is still a bit of a luxury. But I have been able to catch up on some classic Doctor Who viewing.
