just had a thought brought on by the worry of other people about the age of the cast and then it hit me
why not turn the novles into full cast audio dramas

Like the Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy? I thought of that before, but never said anything about it.

    Ermmm....

I thought The Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy was originally a radio 4 broadcast that was eventually novelized, not the other way round as suggested by Smegarama...

    Or am I mistaken?

Well, actually the first two series were written as radio scripts, like you said, but the last three series were adapted from the last three novels, due to Douglas Adams' untimely death.

I know because I have them on my MP3 player. ;-)

    Infinity Welcomes careful Drivers
    Better Than Life
    Backwards

and Last human was realeased in between Better than Life and Backwards, but BTL and Backwards are straight after each other, so last human is just bobbing round out there, I may be wrong, but I dont think i am.

Last Human and Backwards both follow on from BTL. Different timelines that sorta thing.

Yes, the first two were co-written by Grant and Naylor; the second two were written singly. As such, both follow on from Better Than Life. I personally prefer Last Human. It may not have been comedy, but it was a really powerful and original story. It gave every character a defining moment, and the ending ties the entire story up and could easily be the ending to the entire series at some point. Backwards, while also very good, recycled a lot more material from the TV series, and ended on an abrupt cliffhanger that will now never be resolved.

Is there any value to be had from a collection of the novels signed by Rob Llewellyn? I can't remember if I got the lot done but certainly a couple as well as some of his own novels/autobiographical stuff.

Did anyone hear the version of Infinity Welcomes with Chris Barrie doing all the impressions with full sound effects and incidental music etc? I think that if they went down the route suggested they'd have to either do it this way or have one of them reading the story before it breaks into each characters line.
