I'm not sure how well this idea will go down, but here goes!

This is really just a simple little game, but hopefully one that Dwarfers will find quite fun! Basically, someone names any two episodes (pitting them against each other), and the following poster simply picks which of those two episodes they like best. Then that poster sets another "episode battle" for the next poster to choose from. You can explain why you made your choices or not, it's up to you! :-)

    Okay, here's the first one:

Holoship - Because it was more about the personal development of a character against his own nature. :-p

    Legion vs Timeslides

Interesting idea. I think it's very difficult to chose between the two, both very solid episodes, both have classic Red Dwarf moments (Kryten being taught to lie and the "...people I met" line). For me, I'd pick Holoship by a very narrow margin. I can't really put my finger on why but I slightly prefer it over Camille, I'd say 51% vs 49%.

    OK then, DNA or Justice?

Justice. Because it has a more interesting storyline. DNA mostly bores me.

    Gunmen or Quarantine.

Quarantine. I'm not the greatest fan of Gunmen of the Apocalypse and to be honest I think it's a bit over rated.

    The End or The Beginning?

The End. The first episode, can't help it, it's like a drug! I can watch it oooover and oooover.

Thanks for the Memory. It says everything you need to know about Lister and Rimmer's relationship in 30 minutes of perfection.

The Begining, I liked DNA but as with the alternative ending to Out of Time, I really enjoy an episode where Rimmer manages to overcome his own personality and save the day. Plus, it's still got the shiny-new factor.

    Trojan or Inquisitor

(Picked because the references to the the Trojan wars sort of link the two)

Trojan. I really did genuinely laugh a lot at this episode and not so much when watching Inquisitor. Then again perhaps it's the shiny new quality to trojan that swings it. Maybe it's time to get the DVDs out for a Red Dwarf Marathon :-)

Balance of Power or Demons and Angels?

Beyond a Joke or Back To Earth episode 1?

BTE episode 1. I just loved the look of the new Red Dwarf and the action set on it. It did also have a few laughs too. Don't actually recall much of Beyond A Joke other than Able and blowing up the gazebo with a tank.

Hmm... Backwards or Timeslides? Two pretty inventive episodes from series 3 (though I have a fondness of Timeslides)...

Timeslides; I never really enjoyed 'Backwards' - I mean, it was entertaining, but for some reason I just didn't really click with it.

I hav 2 say bitr1. Entangled isnt my favourite. I like the return of holly, rimmer , holster and the positive virus. To say nothing of those fabulous actors Lennon and McCartney.

    Here's an interesting one:

    BTE1 or BTE3

BTE1 - For their encounters when they 'arrive' on Earth.

Thats a hard choice but it maybe has to be Back to Reality and I think it's Tim Spall that just makes that ep a bit more special.

Sorry about that, I didn't ignore you, I think we must have been both typing at the same time, I didn't realise you'd actually posted slightly before me.

Not that it matters I guess, but we've already had that one. ;-)
