So it has the vibe of (arguably) the two best series? That's very good to know!

I look forward to your report.

My report couldnt be more different, so always good to get different opinions! Good read and nice catch with the star Trek TNG thing. I can see what you mean for that particular part.

Certainly doesn't sound as good, I just hope still like the final product.

I guess it stems from the fact that I'm one of the more skeptical fans here, I only liked half of series x. Don't get me wrong I'm excited about series XI but it would be disingenuous of me to not express that I do have some worries about it as well. So when an episode sounds a bit weaker I will have my concerns.....particularly when series X had some pretty weak moments.

It's not a weak episode. I even said that I still think it's strong, but I just slightly preferred the previous two weeks. It's like saying I had a nice three course meal, and I particularly enjoyed the mains and starter. It doesn't mean that the dessert was bad, it just means that I thought the other two were particularly stand out.

I guess the big question is how you found it compares to the Series X episodes you attended, as one thing you commented on the previous 2 episodes is how you found the writing to be tighter then in series X. Is that still the case this week?

Yes, just as tight. I didn't put anything this time around to say it though as all the set reports would read the same otherwise. Like with the other eps compared to X, there were better jokes earlier again and the laughs were consistent throughout again.

Well I find that more comforting to know.

The only thing that worries me is the bit about lifting it out of an old episode. Is this your thought Jed?

I know exactly what Alex is talking about, and there are definite similarities from a specific scene from an episode in VI, its quite blatant and yes I would agree its almost word for word BUT it had to be like that. The set up HAD to have that scene in order for that whole episode to work. It's difficult to explain without spoilers, save to say it didnt detract from the episode at all.

I also have to point out that this episode, for me anyway, is far funnier than anything I've seen in Red Dwarf since 6. Like I say, to me its very Series V in tone.

In the report, I read the words "Robert" and "physical acting" and all I can think of is that awful towel folding movements in X and the over-acting in VII, VIII and BTE. I hope that's not the case here.

Its not the case here. Those words were chosen carefully as he didnt want to give away spoilers! Not saying there isn't a 15 minute towel folding scene though...

Robert's worst piece of physical acting in series X was in Trojan when he take over being old hold for Lister and has a hissy fit.....Honestly that was pretty painful, and it's stuff like that in particularly that I hope series XI avoids completely.
