You mean Red Dwarf XI? Doug Naylor stated that everybody want's it to happen but a few things need to be
    sorted out before it happens.

I wouldn't hold my breath for a series this year, I hope I'm wrong but I suspect more likely
next year. We are near March and nothing has been confirmed yet, they need plenty of time
to film a new series, I suspect we will see a new series next year in my opinion

    What makes you so certain?

I'd be disappointed if it doesn't happen, although I wouldn't expect to see anything any earlier than autumn 2014.

I don't see how an extra year or two is going to make the difference. Plenty of actors carry on working into their 70s or 80s, providing they're not trying to portray 20-somethings (Which they weren't in Series X in any case) it needn't be a problem. I admit I wouldn't really want to see Red Dwarf become Last of the Summer Wine in Space, but the actors still have a fair few years left before they get too near that point IMO.

It would probably end up closer to The Old Guys in space.

Maybe 2 more series pushing it depending if they don't delay it too many
years in between. A year and a half is plenty in between, I would prefer
12 months ideally. Was hoping something big for 25 years but ahhh well.

I all honesty I don't see it as a problem to have series as they get older. I'm getting older so I can relate. Look at the cast of the original Star Trek. They kept going well past their sell-by. ;-)

That's different. If the cast of RD carry on it will end up very embarrassing. Very embarrassing indeed! All good things come to an end. Some people can't accept that.

I really don't see why, in two years time Robert Llewelyn still wont have quite hit 60 and the rest will be around their mid-50s. It's not a matter of accepting that things must come to an end, we all know it will have to sooner or later, but as I've said already I don't see anything particularly embarrassing about watching actors in their 50s.

It is embarrassing if they're trying to portray characters half their actual age, it would be embarrassing if in Polymorph 3 an arthritic Lister has to escape slowly from an Emohawk on a mobility scooter built from Kryten's spare parts , but neither of these should be an issue for a Series XI aired towards the end of next year.

If the shows are still funny then I don't see any problem with a new series regardless of age - I liked series 10 so I'd be happy to see more

That's just a matter of opinion though, overall it seems to have been pretty well received.

Low expectations. of desperate fans. Non of the episodes compare favourably to classic Dwarf. :x
