    just kidding. :P
I loved series X, and very much look forward to the next two or three series, along with more books from Rob and Doug.

To the future and beyond! 8)

I disagree, I'd accept low expectations and desperate fans regarding Back to Earth and that seems to have had nowhere near as positive a reception as Series X. Series X wasn't perfect, I don't think anyone but the most blindly loyal fans are claiming that and I have been critical of it too, but overall I thought it was pretty decent and I seem to be far from alone in that.

If it doesn't happen, and I do accept that is a distinct possibility - the lack of any kind of news or updates at this stage is not encouraging - it will be very surprised if it is because of the age of the actors which only seems to be a problem to a tiny minority.

Yes that's my opinion. You're entitled to yours and I'm entitled to mine.

    Don't recall saying you weren't. . .:?

But "pretty decent" is hardly the best endorsement & doesn't bode well for future RD series. . .

Actually, for me that is very definitely positive, but I tend to be fairly reserved in the way in which I express praise. In any case, why does it need to be the best endorsement? It doesn't need every scene to be pure comedy gold for me to enjoy an episode or series of anything and whilst as I've said it certainly wasn't perfect, I really enjoyed Series X and I remain hopeful that there will be at least one more.

    Anyway, to backtrack slightly.

Speculation at this point. Not FACT. Unless you have some pretty specific insider knowledge that you're not letting on about, even if you turn out to be correct in the long term, at this stage this is just speculation.

I think there will definitely be another series, and I don't agree I think Series X
was successful and very good the majority of the episodes.

Fairly sure that's just an Australian reporter having no clue that BBC and Dave are two separate entities.

Yeah, I sort of thought that anyway but cheers for chipping in with that info.

Isn't Dave owned by BBc Worldwide and Virgin Media anyway ??

I think a lot has to be arranged before they can announce it: the series has to be written, edited and agreed, Danny and Craig need to find holes in their schedule from Death in Paradise and Corrie, Robert needs time away from his books, they need to get Chris back again, dates have to be pinned and finalised, studio's have to be free, set and prop builders need to be free, CGI creators need to be free etc. Especially after what happened the last time to need to be sure everything is ready before things are announced.
