Nobody's stopping you from organizing a Red Dwarf fan convention in Australia.

I would love that. I bet if they ever did something in Australia I wouldn't be able to go. I always said I'd go to a Stargate covention if Richard Dean Andersen and Michael Shanks were going to be there and the couple of weekend they were in Australia last year I could not get to Sydney or Melbourne. I had something more important.

@Asclepius you DO understand just how BIG we are in comparison to the Czech Republic, correct? Most of our States are bigger than the entire Czech Republic. Heck, San Bernadino COUNTY (a political/geographical sub division of our States) is almost as big as your entire Country. (Czech Republic = 30,450 sq. miles,. San Bernadino County = 22,000 sq. miles.) Couple that to the fact that I have never met anyone personally who has ever even HEARD of Red Dwarf besides me and you can understand why we haven't had many if any D.J.'s. here. In most other aspects though The Czech Republic comes out pretty well in a comparison ....

Yes, of course. But it doesn't mean you can't organize just a little event in your state. Who says you have to do festival for whole US? :-D

There's a real possibility that I'm the only person in a 100 mile (160.9 Kilometer) radius that has even HEARD of Red Dwarf much less has seen it.

Thought you all still did, but wasn't sure about the Czech Republic where @Asclepius lives.

It was outrageous at the time! But was happy to do it. Now, I get them for about $25 and get them in less than a week.

Postage for certain things can still take 6 weeks for me and has in fact gotten worse with some of the local postage now taking 5 days instead of 2. While my copy of Red Dwarf wasn't that much I think I paid $190 for the whole collection I have other DVD that I paid $60 - $90 for one season of other shows (Stargate coming to mind and thought I had got a great deal at the time)

One of the towns I used to live postage minimum was 5 days from the capital city and longer if from anywhere else and I coun't vote in one of the state elections because they only did postal votes and my ballot papers (and everyone elses in town) arrived 2 days after the election had been finalised.
