For ten long years we laid in wait for Red Dwarf’s return
Our hopes were raised a hundred times but failed at every turn
The movie never happened and the BBC said no
It seemed the crew had flown their last, we’d lost our favourite show
We filled the void with ‘Dave’ repeats or well worn DVD
Doubting that we’d ever see some new stuff on TV
Somehow for a whole decade the Fan Club still survived
Hoping that this epic show could one day be revived
Many people voiced their doubts, the cast perhaps too old
And no one could imagine the great news that would unfold
It seems Doug Naylor kept the faith, the Dwarf would ride once more
Though even when we read the news some still remained unsure
But very soon it all sunk in, the fans now all ecstatic
We’ve read the Press, we’ve seen the clips, It’s all been quite dramatic
Dave Lister, sole survivor of the planet of his birth
Will soon be on our screens again and makes it ‘Back To Earth’
Rimmer, Kryten and the Cat it seems all make it too
But knowing well this motley crew expect a twist or two
As well as all the chocolate eggs, we hope the Easter bunny
Will serve us up a special treat of something very funny
Whatever happens next weekend, for giving it a go
We have to thank the channel ‘DAVE’ for bringing back our show
To all at GNP once more, we raise our lager glass
And as for all the cast and crew, I’m sure you’ll all kick ass...

    :-)

Good one Cpt! (I read a couple of lines before I tweaked it was a poem. Heh.)

Just make mine a straight beer (i.e. bitter, ale, that sort of thing) or a cider rather than a lager. ;-)
