No because frankly he would be horrible to have as a regular character, Talky is a one joke character who doesn't take much before growing irritating beyond words. Maybe he would be okay for another one off appearance but frankly I wouldn't miss him if he never showed up again.
In all seriousness though, I would like to see Talkie back if they ever brought us Holly again. The banter between those two in the novels is great stuff.
Interesting mix of technology on display. The LCD screens to the left look very now but the monitor hanging from the ceiling looks very 1990's. It's also interesting that despite being a history of playing Total Immersion Videogames, Lister has gone a bit retro and taken up console gaming, judging by the pedals and steering wheel controllers.
Everyone has a hankering for retro gaming sometimes. I love playing old Pacman or Space Invaders arcade games...and dream of owning an Atari 2600
it looks great, like Lister as made his own pad, and Rimmer as come along so he's not on his own.
Did you ever hear of Intellivison by Mattel?
Gave it away! Dumb move!
My dad still has his Intellevision. And my friend owns a 2600.
And yes, the E.T. game is absolutely horrible beyond words.
I remember Shooting Cactus, I think it was called Tombstone and the other was shooting at Star ships.
Cutting edge at the time!
I was a gamer when you was looked upon as a geek. Now the gaming industry is bigger than the movie industry.
Back on topic, I really don't know about the bunk room. Basic was better, but if the red dwarf of earlier days are back then it is all good.
Aye, a Les Paul (or copy). Lister with any other guitar just isn't right. I hope Rimmer hasn't burnt it...
Someone else mentioned the demijohn by the sofa. It's making a few appearances in the teasers.
I was lucky enough to be at ep 6, and the bunk room was directly in front of me so I got a good look. I think it's cool. The stuff happenng on the monitors is quite groovy too, though you can't see it on a picture. Oh I can't wait for ep 6 to be shown so we can talk about it.....! *biting his lip*
I think they actually had four cameras available but they almost always set them up in twos. So, a scene would be recorded once covered by two cameras, and would then be recorded again with the other two cameras (one lot covering wide and mid shots and the other specific close-ups).
I don't know a great deal about camera set-ups for sit-coms but it did seem to be a fairly unusual mix between a multi camera set-up that normally has three or more cameras running at once (and is the standard for an audience sit-com), and a more movie like single camera set-up that requires one scene to be played multiple times.
Odd that it was posted in the Episode Four Title Revealed Thread. Historically all the preview trailers/photos have been posted here. . .:x
You're right simulant and were obviously trying to be helpful. Pay no attention to Bluey, he doesn't mean to seem harsh.
I want to make Simulant a new angry face smilie.
That's how I'm imagining Simulant from now on.
