    Any other cricket fans in?

Just been listening to the first session of the first test on BBC TMS, lost Cook very early but steadied the ship afterwards, 59-1 which is decent. Need to post 350 plus really.

Course I remember the 70s and 80s, when we really could play the game

I think we had a good run from circa 2003-12 give or take where we were a match for most teams. We've had a downward cycle the last 3-4 years but hopefully this series can be the start of another upward curve.

I'm assuming (too lazy to Bing it) That "The Ashes" is a play-off of some sort? For Cricket?

It’s a series of 5 cricket test matches between England and Australia.

It’s held every 2 years. Alternating between the two nations as hosts. They compete for an urn that holds the ashes of the stumps that were burnt after their first meeting over 100 years ago.

Had a phone call from my sister. She works in Brisbane and was late to work because of all the people on the bus and the train travelling to the Ashes. I didn't realise they were in Australia this year since I don't follow sports.
