Nope, not Jesus Christ but Jeremy Corbyn. What do all the labour supporters on here think of this? Are you happy, sad, surprised, worried or joyous? Opinions all. Also what are your view on unite, which might as well glorify collectivism it is so Stalinist?

I must disagree, personally with your lead comment on corbyn. Yes he can certainly campaign and he had won over a big majority of labour supporters. However it is a world away from the task of controlling and running a country.

Appealing to Glastonbury is fun, but political froth, in the grand and serious business of parliament and the control of law and Mp's.

The right wing press are against him, but that's par for the course with labour, as it is with the left wing press and Terry may. anyway your contribution is welcome either way. Please keep it up and let's hear some other voices

I thought he gave a nice little speech at Glastonbury yesterday. Albeit a tad predictable what with basically being the same speech he's been giving for almost 40 years now (apart from the poem). But yeah...nice nonetheless. Also, he has a cool beard. Beards are great. I like beards.

But I don't like Stalin-esq politics. So...perhaps I should stop supporting Corbyn? Also, a little bird told me that he's an anti-Semitic, Hamas-supporting, terrorist sympathiser. Eeek! :scared:

However, another little bird then insisted that UKIP are somewhat Hitler-esq, and that Britain First are worse than ISIS. Then both birds asserted that the Tories are evil, demonic cretins who plan on killing the poor and feeding us all into the Hellmouth whilst laughing like Dick Dastardly and drinking expensive wiiiine.

    Tribal politics is fun.

Speaking of fun, here's an entertaining cover of Pearl Jam's 'Even Flow'. No political relevance, I just like it a lot. :-)

Ah, that's okay, then. Had me worried for a while there.

In all seriousness, I may share my (somewhat conflicting/paradoxical) views on Unite when I have a little more time and am in the right frame of mind. :-)

I wouldn't say it's a revival. I've always thought he'd be successful so this is just a natural progression for him.

    I'm a floating voter BTW.

    Agreed.

And I suspect that the "right-wing" media expected him to do well too. Hence them going out of their way to pretend to believe he's unelectable. This may be a tad overly pessimistic, but I think that, when it comes to opinionated political stuff (as opposed to rare objective facts), most political media outlets (both "left" and "right") quite often fall into the habit of 'reporting' what they want people to think, rather than what they themselves actually think. I think.

    ^^
    Yeah, what he said.

And just to add to my last bout of pessimism, I would suggest that, in some cases, numerous 'journalists' and a large portion of politicians tend to play intentional word games by regularly changing their definitions to suit specific arguments and the many contradictions they make.

Oh dear, I seem to have morphed into George Carlin. :-D
