Season 8 episode 3. A very good episode. Not as many main characters died as I feared, but I was sad about those who did.

Loved this movie one of the best Robin Hoods I have seen. Fantastic acting by all. I have seen it many times! Great directing one of the best movies depicted in that era. Kevin Costner and Morgan Freeman had great timing.
Beautiful scenery authentic costumes. Memorable characters. And a romantic theme song . I personally think it should have won an award!

But why did Robin Hood speak with an American accent?

Season 8 episode 4. A good episode with some tragic moments that took me by surprise. Really looking forward to next week's episode now.

I have several issues with the episode 'branded' and i wondered what others views were

1 Nobody on the platoon really speaks up for godfrey after he's being baranded a coward, and despite the fact that he's there friend they quickly turn on him

2 The whole attiude of mainwaring changes too abruptly, he isn't a 'proper' office and he wasn't in world war one, plus that war was seen as a shambles even at that time, so even more reason not to judge a 'friend', plus if he's a 'coward' what does mainwaring think of him joining the homeguard?

3 There is a kind of redemption at the end, but it only comes after godfrey 'proves' himself, should he have had to?

I would have liked to have seen godfrey address these issues directly, just a throw away line such as, 'and what did you do during the first world war mr mainwaring' or 'the loss of life seemed appaling to me' would have sufficed.

I know we are supposed to think 'poor old godfrey', and the episode does indeed make you think and stand out amongst some of the others. However i do not see what perry and croft, beside perhaps 'don't judge a book by its cover' were trying to achieve in making mainwaring and co seem judegemental and slightly unpleasant. Before anybody says, yes i know views on cowardice were different back then, especially during war time, it's the way its handled that i have issues with

    views and opinions please

Season 8 episode 5. A crazy but great episode. Sad to see so many characters killed off, but now I'm looking forward to seeing how it all ends in seven days' time.

Is that the idiot commentator who always shouts, "Where's the cue ball going?" at least 100 times per tournament?
