Day, month, year?
Day-month-year for me. That's the way I always like my date format.
Okay, I just accessed this again and the threat came up. The issue is definitely with this site then.
Can you please let me know what specific thread this is happening with, ideally using the "Report" button? Or give us some more information from your antivirus as to the specific URL/image/whatever that's causing it? Just that if you're the only person seeing it at the moment, it's difficult to pin it down!
It's looking oh so lovely now. Is the font appearing to be rather big for everyone or is it just me? Can it be changed by the user like before or are we stuck with it unless it is changed system-wide?
Also Seb, in the Spolier Policy threads, you give the link to Dave's Twitter as @join_dave which they no longer use. It is now @davechannel
Can group private messages get more than six people? I need to be able to pm everyone on the forum all at once!
I get a virus threat message on this forum too (but not anywhere else). Just now it was when I opened the 'Explain that? Lemons edition' thread in Red Dwarf Universe. I'm running my antivirus to get the full URL.
Oh, how weird - that was the picture I found on Google Images, for my signature block!
I've removed it now.
Bloody hell Jmc, stop trying to give us all viruses!!!
Ha ha, yes. Cue some awkward phone calls!!
It's probably the case that the site the image was hosted on was flagging up as a virus alert, rather than the image itself.
Either way, it's good practice with things like forum signatures (or indeed whenever posting images here) to rehost the image on a service such as Imgur before you post it - if you directly hotlink from another site, it leaves the forum open to being compromised (for example, someone could spot that you've hotlinked, and maliciously replace the image with something less savoury!)
If you use Chrome, there's an Imgur extension that actually adds in a context menu, meaning you can right-click an image, instantly rehost it on Imgur, and then copy the link to there... I use it all the time!
The alerts have stopped now, for me, so I'm sure that image was the issue. Thanks everyone!
I tried to get more information on the issue virus myself but I foudn it rather difficult with my Antivirus software. Usually clicking the virus chest should bring up that information, but I... couldn't find it. (Online help seemed to indicate a UI of an older version of the software.)
That's okay. Someone beat me to it, problem solved!
Hopefully my new sig won't cause any similar problems.

This reminds me times, when @Ant E was infected by the virus.

What a welcome update! The old forum was feeling dated and lacking some features you'd expect but this is much better. No complaints so far.

Dislike. Lack of TEX
Is it possible to make the forum search work with shorter terms?
One of the main things I used to do is vanity-search for "jmc" (and curse djmcbell when it did a partial match on his screen name). I suppose it works better now you see that someone has @-ed you... but it would be nice to find posts mentioning DNA, Me2, Me², BTL, BTE, RDX, GNP, G&T and likely more.
