I seldom do these types of thing as I find it difficult to pick favourites on some series.

    1. Future Echoes.
    2. Stasis Leak (Although Thanks for the Memory is a strong contender and might win on another day.)
    3. The Last Day (Actually even more difficult to pick this one. Polymorph and Timeslides are way up there but I think Kryten's deadpan joke and the Terminator parody clinch this for me.
    4. Justice - All good episodes this series, but I found that easy to pick.
    5. Back To Reality. (Although The Inquisitor is up there.)
    6. Gunmen of the Apocalypse. (Although I could easily pick Out of Time here.)
    7. Beyond a Joke - Yep, I like the episode many people hate the most. Although I probably like Tikka... as much.
    8. Casandra
BtE - Director's Cut. If I had to pick one individual episode I suppose I'll go with 3.
    10 - The Beginning.

Actually that wasn't as hard as I thought that'd be. One thing I'll add though: there are other episodes which, while not my favourite overall do contain favourite scenes. I thought the Kinitawowi segment of Emohawk probably the funniest Dwarf I've seen, but Gunmen... beats it episode overall combining story and comedy.

    1 - Future Echoes
    2 - Better Than Life
3 - Timeslides (always think this episode has such a great premise)
    4 - White Hole
5 - Quarantine (Mr Flibble never gets old)
6 - Out Of Time (was a difficult one to choose)
    7 - Tikka To Ride
    8 - Cassandra
    BTE - part 1
    X - Trojan

1 - The End: where it all began, and the "Dead Dave" sequence still makes me laugh now!
2 - Thanks for the memory: recently changed from Queeg. I love this episode, a nice emotional episode with lots of character!
3 - Marooned. Is there really any competition??
4 - White Hole: Without a doubt! Until recently was tied with Marooned for best episode ever!
5 - Terrorform: Classic episode, the Rimmer musketeers get me every time.
6 - Rimmerworld: Yes it now is a continuity error with holograms aging, but I just thought ti was a fabulous insight into rimmer (my favorite character if you haven't guessed) and a great alrounder!
7 - Stoke me a Clipper: great episode, where sadly the king of smeg leaves us.
8 - Back in the Red pt 1: Started so promisingly and then... bleh with pts 2+3!
9 - Directors cut. Works much better viewed as a short film! (and yes it is 9... live with it.)
X - The Beginning: Without a doubt has surpassed all others to become my all time favourite episode. Rimmer centric episodes were always my favourite, but with the model shtos that rival star wars, and the Brilliant scene with young Rimmer, this episode takes the biscuit!

Just to say here that I really don't see much of a continuity problem here. Rimmer was brought back to help keep Lister sane, it stands to reason that in the same way a hologram is programmed to sleep and be able to eat simulated food and drink at least that under those circumstances he'd roughly match Lister's aging, afterall it'd be a bit depressing to be stuck around a perpetual twenty-something while you're getting steadily older.

On Rimmerworld there's no Lister and due to the effects of the wormhole no time is passing for Lister so Rimmer doesn't need to age. Besides, what's the alternative here? I've never met a 600 year old man but I can't imagine it'd be a pretty sight... Holograms aren't programmed to "die" once they've lived a normal human lifespan so it also makes sense that under circumstances where the hologram has been around an abnormally long time the aging can be paused or refreshed.

Of course, none of this is actually spelled out, but it's not a great deal of a leap of the imagination to come to a reasonably plausible explanation without going straight to assuming that it's a mistake.

Usual caveat: difficult to chose, subject to change, etc. etc.

    I. Future Echoes
    II. Thanks For The Memory
    III. Polymorph
    IV. White Hole
    V. The Inquisitor
    VI. Out Of Time
    VII. Duct Soup
    VIII. Cassandra
    X. The Beginning (having seen each episode twice)

Indeed. Besides, in that very same series, Rimmer actually ages in the next episode! That could be due to the excessively carnal lifestyle of the future Dwarfers but it just goes to show: Holograms can show age.

    1. Me2 - the end scene is just... amazing.
    2. Thanks For The Memory - my ultimate episode, my favourite out of the entire series.
    3. Polymorph - AHAHAHAHA. That is all.
    4. Dimension Jump - I don't even need to give an answer to this.
    5. Quarantine - it's just one of those stand-out episodes, but as V is my favourite season... a difficult choice.
    6. Out Of Time - I found it hard to pick a fave from this series as it's a darned good'un, but OOT if only because of Rimmer's power-ending...
    7. Stoke Me A Clipper - see Dimension Jump for more details. Also, the music that goes alongside releasing Ace's light bee is just... immense.
    8. BITR pt. 2
    9. BTE pt. 2
