Bored with Norman's sulks, so either Hattie or Bill Baily.
Imagine if it was Tony Hawk's lol
My blood pressure is fine. Thanks for the concern though. . .
Don't think we need Holly anymore, Kryten has taken over that role.
Well we got Holly with Kryten in series 8, although not the best series I think
it could work in the older format.
Not watched 8, but Holly was in the more traditional role of running a fully manned Red Dwarf. I think he was mainly there in the earlier series to provide exposition, with a few nice one-liners. All the exposition is now done by Kryten.
I think it still can be done. Maybe in a smaller role or maybe not in every episode. Holly is rumoured for series X
although not confirmed! What if they used Holly for just starbug or blue midget and not for the main ship Red Dwarf
itself? Don't think Normal is in it for sure, he took is childish tantrums and said he didn't want to do it anymore
and blocked Robert off his Twitter account.
You are a very litteral person.....I will have to try and keep this in mind
I agree, I mean if Holly came back I wouldn't mind (provided it was and already established actor within the role) but as season 3 to 5 rolled on it seemed that Holly was getting to be less relevant to the overall story. While it was nice seeing Holly again at the end of series 7, he proved to be useless and for the most part unfunny in series 8. Not having Holly in the show isn't a huge loss because he kinda served his point out as a character.
You cant just change the Actor for Holly, would be like changing the Actor for Kryten, Bill Bailey probably being the best suggestion so far though
I think Dylan Moran might be an interesting Holly. He always seems drunk. I think that would be an interesting side-effect of computer senility. And if you have ever heard Dylan do stand-up, he has a sort of meandering funny style.
It's just a suggestion.
It is totally possible for Holly to live along side Kryten even though Kryten took over the computer skill that Holly was meant to do. I miss the deadpan and stupid remarks Holly used to make in the earlier series'. As it would seem that Norman would never play the character again then the task for me has to be Hattie. If for some reason Hattie wasn't interested I think Gordon could take over.
Gordon Brittas? :P
They did change the actor for Holly. First it was Norman Lovett then it was Hattie Hayridge.
They did change the actor for Kryten. First it was David Ross then it was Robert Llewellyn.
Post of the year
What a wonderful idea, but as you probabaly know I was meaning Gordon "How do you turn this off then?"
what about Rich hall, he's very dry great character. I'm happy just having the four Dwarfers now though.

stop your foul whining you filthy piece of distended rectum! :x:x:x
I agree Dylan could work. (the first page I saw the suggestion I thought ooh) He'd just be annoyed at Kryton, wind-up and ignore Rimmer, confuse the Cat and probably be good mates with Lister. He'd likely be inattentive, drunk and belligerent. Just like in Blackbooks.
Having reviewed the suggestions, perhaps Milton Jones would make a better Holly.
I watched him on the show Mock the Week online. He seems odd enough, and funny enough. So if they couldn't get Dylan Moran, maybe he would do...
Odd, not sure how my post could be constituted as "whining", foul or otherwise. :?
I think Ardal O Hanlon (Father Dougal Maquire in Fr Ted) would make a great Holly, maybe after a full reset would lead him/her to being more innocent know nothing stupid than forgetful dense stupid...
Patrick Moore too I remember being a great, snappy floating head from a TV Show in my youth, he'd be good at I imagine, however I suppose he's getting on a bit now!
