My VCR works fine, I've had it for about 10 years now and it's in good working order. :-)

From what I remember, they were actually better quality than VHS. Shame they didn't take off!

Anyway. Yep, I've still got a VCR. I don't use it that much, and it sometimes tends to chew up tapes. I think that might have more to do with the age of the tapes than the VCR itself though. I used it to watch some Dr Who videos someone gave me a few months back, and it was fine then.

I own exactly two VHS tapes, and both are part of the Red Dwarf - Six Of The Best box set. All others I've transferred to DVD and discarded. I still own a VCR since there are still some decent old documentaries and stuff out there on VHS that can be bought on Amazon and eBay.

Why did you transfer the episodes on VHS onto DVD?

The only episode I'd consider doing that with is my off air copy of 'Terrorform' to get the correct music (it was changed for VHS and DVD).

I didn't. I got rid of all the Red Dwarf episodes that I had on VHS (All recorded from TV) when the DVDs came out.
