    Yes, this has been done hundreds of times before, but what is your ONE favourite line from RD. Just one. Just your favourite. Yes, there are loads of great lines, loads of great quips, but if you had to pick one, what is it and why. It may not even be a great line, but could have a special meaning (possibly the first episode you watched, and the first joke etc.)

    To start off, mine is from Holoship, which is an episode that I don't really like at all (probably my least favourite of the series), but that one line Rimmer says when he says goodbye to the crew is such a classic that I constantly think about it when thinking of Red Dwarf. And that line would be............

    "I've come to regard you........as.......people........ I've met"

    I totally agree with you on that, Rage. V was my favorite series anyway.

    Rimmer in Confidence and Paranoia :

    "You know, sometimes, Lister, you can be quite perceptive and thought-provoking. And other times, like this, you can rant and drivel on like a complete loonie."

    Most of the best insults in Red Dwarf tend to be Rimmer lines.

    Probably: "Not really... I need it to turn the lights on and off."

    Though my most quoted is more likely "Perhaps you would like to join us on a turn around the forest, and later have tea in Mr Bingley's gazebo?"

    The people I met line was brilliant, has me in stithces every time. Also, Rimmer's attempt to remember the "now" speech from Richard III in Marooned. The whole Talkie Toaser bit in White Hole is excellent, and Lister's description of Khakhakhkhakhkh's name(like a footballer clearing his nose) and looks(like his own armpit after 20 games of table tennis) has me in stitches every time.

    I have to agree that "I've come to regard you as people I've met" is wonderful.

    If you were to choose one Rimmer line that best sums up the character, that would be it.

    This is really damn hard to choose, they are all such great quotes, and I got Tim Minchin distracting me.

    It's gotta be "Mr Flibble is very cross. You shouldn't have run away from him. What are we going to do with them Mr Flibble? We can't possibly do that! Who would clear up the mess?"

    Quarantine has to be my favourite episode ever!

    One of my favourite lines has to be "You're a goit! And you're a goit! I'm surrounded by goits! Holly, you're a goit!" ... "I'm a what?"

    Still, nothing beats no sounds to hear for me.

    I was watching Back to Earth last night and this one had me in stitches;

    Cremlin Kate - "In my country, we have word for people like you."
    Rimmer - "In my country, we have several."

    And another classic from Dimension Jump;

    Rimmer - "It's not easy looking in the mirror and seeing the face of a guy nobody likes."
    Cat - "How do you think we feel? We have to look at it all day!"

    "Hook, line, sinker, rod and copy of angling times sir!" Classic

    Also after revisiting the DVDs I've rediscovered a few other favourites and i'm struggling to pick so here's a few more:

    from the early years was from Gordon the computer( holly's "pen pal") with his chess move....
    "That's the little knobbly ones down the front" It's all in the delivery!

    Kryten on Starbug "Sir are you absolutely sure? It does mean changing the bulb!"

    Series 3 - Backwards Lister and Cat: "You're right this is an insane conversation!" "She'll never leave Fred and we know it!"

    Series 3 - Marooned Rimmer: "NOW!..... That's all i can remember"

    Any there are many many more!
