Fantastic stuff krytes! Are you going wear the watch at all or are your collections simply for being on a shelf? I wouldn't be able to resist parading that around.
The watch same as everything else will not be used, I am keeping everything in as mint condition as much as possible, was very tempting to open the 1998 calendar just to see what was inside, but, nope, beat the temptation.
Crikey kry10. Doesn't seem much point in having the calendar if you're not going to enjoy it. Try getting some white cotton gloves like they wear when inspecting ancient books and manuscripts to help preserve them
I enjoy having it, it's sealed in it's packaging, so, I want to leave it like that, keep it in mint condition.
I know what you mean about the gloves, but, I have learned the hard way that to keep something's worth, you have to keep it in it's packaging, which is why I have two of all the corgi toys, one open on display and one in it's packaging never to be opened.
Blimey! What a great load of swag if you please!
If you please ?
I got one of those glass Starbug keyrings at last year's DJ. Great aren't they?
It was a gift from someone.
I am very proud of my collection.
'tis a great collection indeed. I've been thinking of getting a **** ****** mug to keep pens in on my desk
Edit: Censored coz it's not an official product so far as I know. *tip toes away*
Here's my complete collection of RD stuff:
Nice collection there karnie.
When the encyclopedia's are released, they will be part of mine, I noticed you have a starbug playset, shame you opened yours, mine will never be opened, I learned the hard way that if you open them, you devalue them.
On the top picture, what is the black book top right and the white thing right middle ?
Also, are the guns actual props or toys that have been sold at some stage ?
Karnie, where did you get your big Starbug model? It's fantastic!
Sorry krytes, as much as I appreciate your mint collection, I'm with Karnie on this one. A collection is for enjoying, I wouldn't give a smeg how much more stuff would be worth if I kept it in the box. I'd get SO much more joy from being able to play with it and actually enjoy it.
The big starbug is the Electronic Playset.
Playing with them is one thing, but, the better alternative is to get two of stuff your going to play with, that way, one can be kept for posterity, and the other played with and admired as it should be.
I have done that with my corgi toys, but, just need to wait till I have enough cash to get another playset of Starbug.
The black book is Red Dwarf VIII, it was given to me by someone but apparently without the dust cover. The white booklet to the right is a script for the American pilot.
The Canary rifle is an actual production prop from the show, bought from The Prop Store, with a custom mount I made; the Molly-D I made myself using the same gun used in the prop, and kind of winging the rest of it.
As far as opening the Starbug, yeah, there was no way I WASN'T going to open it I bought it for me to enjoy, to look over every nuance and to fly it around my apartment (OK, I don't really do that...), not as an investment. if I spent $300 on it, it might be different, but I think I paid just slightly more than retail, so yeah, I ripped that bad boy open as soon as I got it.
At least it made everyone ELSE'S boxed version go up in value... 8)
