Wendy Stahel, Consumer Products Manager for BBC Worldwide Sydney, told reddwarf.co.uk, "We are excited to be hosting this special event - it's to launch the Series 1 DVD, but also to enjoy and celebrate that fab program Red Dwarf - in Australia with Australian fans!" Although tourists are very welcome...

There are competitions planned, too, with top prizes - but on that subject, Wendy is keeping her lips firmly buttoned. "Well we want to keep some surprises up our sleeves! But we are asking fans to come dressed as their favourite character and there'll be a prize for that!" So slip into your Space Corps uniform, curry-stained shirt or super-sharp suit and get on down.

Red Dwarf Series 1 DVD is available from ABC Shops, ABC Centres and video retailers from 4 December 2002 for SRP $49.95. You can link to the ABC online shop from our Links section.
