Series II Bonus Material - by Andrew Ellard

6 December, 2002

Produced alongside the Series I extras, Red Dwarf II's DVD content matches the first almost item for item. There's twenty minutes of deleted scenes, cast commentary, an exclusive interview with Doug Naylor... Ah, smeg it, just read the list:

Fans everywhere will be pleased to know that this list of extras is true for all regions. As before, the disc will feature snazzy animated menus, allowing access to all the episodes, which have again been given a clean up in preparation for this release. So it's like Series I all over again, really - only with a giant inflatable banana on the set.

Second Coming

With the episodes produced in pairs, the menus are based on those for Series I - but will be far from identical. Series II's design has been mirrored in the menus, with new set design elements and new lighting effects in place. Gone too are the ash canisters, fish boxes and exam papers - instead you'll be able to pick out props from the second series such as Lister's moon boots, triangular videotapes and, of course, the Holly Hop Drive.

The release date for Series II in region 2 is February 10th, coinciding with the week Red Dwarf celebrates its fifteenth anniversary. Region 1 fans will have to hang on just that tiny bit longer for February 25th.

Australia, meanwhile, may be waiting for the current planned date of April 7th. But believe us, it'll be worth it! More DVD Details will follow soon...
