You may not have heard of the Hallé Orchestra, but if you haven't it's very much your loss. They are Britain's longest-established professional symphony orchestra... and their new season at The Bridgewater Hall, Manchester includes a SF night that's not to be missed.
Howard Goodall dropped us a line recently to let us know that he has just completed an orchestral suite for the group in readiness for their Sci-Fi Night on October 30th. This will be the premiere of the Red Dwarf Suite, conducted by Cal Davis, and finds the crimson short one rubbing musical shoulders with other classic genre themes. The full collection runs as follows:
