If you want to recognise your Red Dwarf DVD on a Region 1 or Region 4 shelf, we're here to help. Reddwarf.co.uk's handy print-off-cut-out-and-keep guide has all the artwork for USA/Canada and Australia/New Zealand.

The American DVD covers have always pushed for an identity of their own, making much larger use of Rimmer/Lister character shots than their British counterparts. Usually, as with Series VII, this has led to one of the boyz in the top left corner, the other in the bottom right.

For Series VIII, though, the designers have been reluctant to split up the picture of the pair, and with the series numeral now huge it was decided to leave them together, as they were photographed on the set.

Once again the American discs themselves feature character shots of all six main players from the series. And also once again, the release will include a set of character trading cards. Also also once again again (we have got to lay off the coffee) those cards are limited edition. You'll know if your DVD has them - it'll be sealed in cellophane and adorned with an informative sticker.

On to Australia and we have a design more akin to the UK releases, but with the usual difference that the DVD case will be clear plastic to allow you to view the inside of the slip cover, which contains stills, chapter points and, um, instructions on how to get your DVD out of its case. Complicated stuff, obviously.

Oh, and also also also pictured are the DVD onbodies. Not really worth mentioning in the text - it's just that this may be the last time we get to say 'onbodies' for a while, and it's a term we happen to like quite a lot.

Finally, don't forget that Regions 1 and 4 will, along with the UK, be getting the fabulous skutter gift set - grab 'em fast before they roll off the shelves!
