Just what have those scamps been up to?

12 January, 2007

Wanna know just where the boys from the Dwarf have been lately? Can't afford the time and money it takes to be a full-time stalker? Let reddwarf.co.uk bring you up to speed.

Norman Lovett has posted dates on his website for a series of live appearances. Most imminently is the triumphant return of his hilarious slide show at the Battersea Arts Centre on Friday 26th January.

All other dates currently listed are for September, taking in Redhill, High Wycombe, Worcester, Brighton and Bridgewater. Check his site for details.

Craig Charles filmed scenes for Clubbing to Death in December. Directed by long-time collaborator Lee Phillips (if you have the Series VIII DVD, check out the Intro 2 music video Easter egg, directions here; or our previous stories for short film The Dealer), Craig plays gay gangster Carl Begsley. Insert slightly offensive joke here.

More details on the film can be found on its MySpace page, including this synopsis:

Clubbing to Death is a British feature film set in the murky world of club culture, where Dench, a low life gangster runs the five biggest clubs in London and supplies drugs to all of them. Everything seems to be going well until he gets greedy and decides to rip off his supplier by hijacking the next consignment before it reaches the UK. Trouble is the guy he's been dealing with forgot to mention that they belong to a psychotic American holed up in Morocco. Will Dench and his loyal right hand man Chris be able to stop the mad yanks plans to destroy his clubs and family before it's too late?

Danny John-Jules has a new kids show on BBC One - M.I. High. The spy school drama kicked off on Monday, January 8th at 5.00pm with a guest appearance by Robert Llewellyn, and continues weekly. Danny plays M.I.9 agent Lenny Bicknall, posing undercover as the school janitor. More details from the show's homepage.

Danny also has a role in British movie Underground. The website is here, Danny plays a character named Lamont Gaines, and this is the blurb:

Cast Round-up

In the UK suburbs, an underground tournament is set to challenge twelve fighters from different backgrounds to compete for the price of £500,000. They have been handpicked for a no-holds barred competition that will push each fighter to their limit. Each fighter has their own reason for competing, and each will give everything they've got to take the prize... but there can be only one winner.

Finally, the charming and only occasionally sinister Graham McTavish has launched his own website at grahammctavish.com. Interestingly, Graham has recently filmed a role for feature film Sisterhood (website here) alongside one-time Red Dwarf simulant Nicholas Ball. How scary is that combination!
