Another country added to the Global iPlayer app.

Regular readers will know by now that tracking the expansion of BBC Worldwide's Global iPlayer app for iPad is one of our favourite hobbies. We've followed it to (deep breath) Germany, Italy, Spain, France, The Republic of Ireland, The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Portugal, Switzerland, Austria, Australia, Finland, Denmark and Sweden. And now - bliss! - we've got another country's name to add to our collection: step forward, Canada.

Of course, if you're actually in Canada, you've now got even more reason to be excited about this than we have. For a monthly subscription fee of $8.99 a month, you can get on-demand access to a huge variety of BBC and other UK-made television content - including, of course, Series I-III of Red Dwarf.

What's more, as it's the festive season, the Canadian launch is being paired with a special promotion whereby anyone downloading the (free) app in December can access an episode every day until Christmas Day for no charge, and without having to sign up to the monthly or annual subscription. So that's plenty of time to get through everything from The End to The Last Day, with a handful of days to spare...

The global BBC iPlayer App is now available to download for free from the App Store.
