Chris And Robert Go Jumping

DJ XVIII's first guests confirmed.

30 May, 2014

It's exactly three hundred and thirty-six days until the next Dimension Jump convention - which is just about enough time to finish gluing all the bits onto a Mutton Vindaloo Beast costume - but although the event is almost a year away, the Official Red Dwarf Fan Club are kindly allowing us to exclusively reveal the names of the first two special guests to confirm their attendance.

Unless you're the kind of person who blithely skips past the headline of an article to get to the meat within, you'll probably already have figured out that the two names are that of Chris Barrie and Robert Llewellyn. Hurrah!

Chris And Robert Go Jumping

Chris' appearance at DJ XVIII will see him continue his unbreakable run of appearances at the convention, which stretches all the way back to the eighth event at the turn of the millennium. In short, empires have risen and fallen (and Red Dwarf has changed broadcaster) since Chris last failed to make a DJ. Robert, meanwhile, made a triumphant return to the stage last year, after having only been able to make the 2011 event remotely.

As per usual, both guests will be taking part in exclusive Q&A sessions, as well as posing for photographs and signing autographs - the latter of which come at no additional charge to attendees, unlike at the majority of sci-fi conventions out there! The event takes place from 1st-3rd May 2015 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Nottingham, and tickets can currently be booked at £55 for fan club members and £65 for non-members.

While Chris and Robert are the first two names announced, they're unlikely to be the last - Dimension Jump regularly attracts a veritable smorgasbord of Dwarf cast and crew members past and present. The ticket prices will rise after the current "early bird" period expires in September, so if you want to be a part of the biggest weekend in Red Dwarf fandom, we suggest getting a move on!

While Grant Naylor Productions fully supports the Dimension Jump convention, please note that it is not a GNP event and is organised and run by the official Fan Club.
